About The Founder

Japanese native, Rika Ikegami, developed a love for clothing at an early age.

Her family's high- end [European] boutique was where she was exposed to quality fabrics and designer brands. From this, she gained an international mindset that would propel her with an advantage in the fashion industry. Her love for American culture--music, film, style, and art-- grew passionately during her teenage years and motivated a relocation that changed her life.

After high school, Rika, moved to Hawaii then on to Los Angeles in 1999, diving right in to her import/ export career with Japanese denim distribution company- Sohatek Inc./ IPGI Inc. In her role she simultaneously maintained several responsibilities, from sales and branding to marketing and public relations with popular brands such as Blue Cult, Sacred Blue, R U Blue, 575 Denim, Saddlelites, Rock & Republic, Victoria Beckham by Rock & Republic, Paige Premium Denim, Rich & Skinny, Robin's Jeans, Frankie B, Dittos, Tuff Gong, LA Made and T-bags Los Angeles.

From the close connection and broad knowledge of the denim industry, Ikegami, decided to explore the idea of starting a textile business. The vision behind the business was simple: to partner premium Japanese fabrics with U.S. contemporary denim brands. In 2008, R Plus Creation Inc. was born. The company caters to their clients with expertise. They consult with talented designers and fashion labels alike on importing suitable fabrics from Japan based on needs and aesthetic. Additionally, RPC has been an integral part of countless U.S. brands launching in Japan along with assisting their gain of ample international distribution.

Since, the company has catapulted into a progressive upswing expanding to New York in 2010 through the channel of collaboration with Dorothy McNee of ITS Group, an East Coast industry veteran. Currently, R Plus Creation Inc. proudly carries a substantial catalogue of textiles that is versatile for all designer categories and needs such as casual, dressy, classic, trendy, fashion forward technical, and experimental. AG- Adriano Goldschmied, J Brand, Citizens of Humanity, John Elliott, Nifty Genius, Marc Jacobs, J Crew, Theory, Tory Burch, Rag & Bone, L'Agence, Mr. Completely, Steve Alan, and Fear of God are among the infamous labels that have sought out sought RPC's textiles.

Rika Ikegami strives on forward with the partnerships she has thoughtfully built. Thailand and China are the latest sectors added to R Plus Creation Inc's impressive roster.
